This was the most dirty and low class hostel I ever been. The staff 'works' (if you can call it work) here in their pyjama's all day. The floor was sooo muddy and disgusting. They threw the bed sheets at us so we could do it ourselves. There was a huge shortage of toiletpaper. The toilets didn't got cleaned for many days and the staff is doing nothing all day. The only good thing about this hostel were the beds and the silence during the nights. Absolutely disgusting. The owner of this hostel is never around and the atmosphere is sooo dead.

I had some things stolen from this hostel. I reported to management that my things had been tampered with on one particular evening. The manager said she would check the cameras but didn't. If she did we would have known it was someone in my room. The next day I went out and my things were stolen. My computer and camera. Another guy in my room had his things stolen as well. I never heard from the owner of the hostel at all. Police suggested the owner may be involved. The staff were friendly, but just backpackers.

First security is top notch with a staff there 24/7. The location is wonderful with bars and restaurants walking distance from the property. The facility are also clean and well maintained. The staff are very welcoming when you arrive and not only do they want your stay to be comfortable, but also make sure you have an amazing time! They plan many events for the guests. I originally planned to stay one night and ended up staying a week long because the environment was so alive! I recommend anyone that's a solo or group traveler to stay at this wonderful place! Thank you for everything, Hostal Nacional! Top Hostel and Guadalajara for sure!

My experience at Hostal Nacional was great..! I was there for two days and was mainly a business trip. The place was nice and clean, great amenities, It's very secure. During the time I stayed there they're were doing some remodeling like replacing doors, replacing the front counter, and so forth, but glad to see they care about the appearance of the place. I would recommend it to my friends in the future. The price was great and the stay was awesome..!! Thank you Hostal Nacional for making my stay worthwhile..!

I loved it!
The stuff is cool, The location can not be better. It is located in the best area in Guadalajara. Walking to the most important places in Guadalajara, concerning food and drinks out. But even places which are farer away are easy to reach by bus and bike.
But the best thing about the hostel is really the relaxing atmosphere.
I had a great time getting to know very cool people.

The place is in a good location at about a 10 minute walk from Chapultepec. The hostel rooms are very clean and the common areas are great. One thing it could improve on is the bathrooms. The shared ones were dirty and the toilet seat could not be put upright. Still, the staff is very friendly and I really enjoyed my stay here.

Stayed in the private room, Mr. Brightside. It had 3 twin beds but it was in fact private, no one else was there except me. All three beds had a fitted sheet on them, I worry about the cleanliness of that, who's to say that the last single person who slept in the room didn't sleep on more than one bed and leave dirty sheets? I also had a private bathroom. The room had zero hangers. The room had no screens on the windows. The room had a fan which worked very well. The private bathroom had zero paper towels or any way to dry your hands. It did have soap, but the sink barely worked a trickle, so I guess it didn't matter. I talked to the staff and they said I should use one of the other non-private bathrooms for washing my hands. So I could shower and use the toilet, but not wash my hands or brush my teeth....Not exactly a private bathroom is it? The toilet barely flushed. All toilet paper had to go in a basket, but it was emptied at least once during my 3 night stay. Loud partying until well past midnight on Friday but that doesn't bother me, if you're a light sleeper you're in for a bad time.
