such a cute plaza!! the mercado is beautiful, not too overwhelming, but full of culture. the architecture is amazing and there are so many beautiful fountains and statues. this city has some great history and I've completely fallen in love with it. also many great museums that unfortunately the majority are closed on Mondays which is when I went walking downtown/in el centro. I'll have to save it for another visit in the future????

Actually I was very happy making a stop here. Had breakfast at one of the stands on the second floor. And bought plenty of souvenirs. Super affordable if you're on a budget! I don't think I spent more than $8 on food for my wife and I. And no more than $25 on gifts. Try the crunchy barbacoa tacos shown in the picture. Soooo Gooood!!! ????

Fantastic market with a massive selection. Eat at “Super Antojitos- La Casa del Autentico Torito” the second counter restaurant when you come down the stairs from the walking bridge. It has al pastor on a spit and the BEST tacos I’ve had in Guadalajara. Fresh toppings, delicious meat and amazing tortillas. Do not eat at Sabor a Mexico (the first restaurant down the stairs). We ordered the Carne de Puerco en Chile (lower left dish on the flyer) and got a dish with mostly bones and hardly ANY meat. We’ve eaten at other places in the market and had delicious food. This place isn’t what you’re looking for! at the next stall…

Definitely get some of the unusual fruits you find. We LOVED the small red seed pods (lower left of my photo). The reddish yellow fruits in the right are also delicious.

Massive market that has almost anything you can think of. Lots of shoes and fairly well made knock offs of luxury brands. Food court is quite large with a lot of variety. Nice to check off the list when exploring in the area, can pair it with seeing the cathedrals and old town.
