The hotel is centrally located, so you are within walking distance to shops restaurants and attractions in the downtown area. The rooms are comfortable but could use some improvements as well as the hotel as a whole. It has details here and there, so maintenance wise, it needs a bit of work. The maid did an outstanding job! The restaurant attention could be faster but the food is good! I'll be coming back.

I booked the hotel without knowing what to expect. It has been a very nice experience so far. The people at the front desk gave me my room right away as they saw how tired I was from my trip to Guadalajara.
I had dinner at the restaurant and found it quite nice. Not too bad but I have found other restaurants in the area are a little bit better.
The maid cleaning my room on the 4th floor does a great job everyday. I come back from my outings to a very nice and clean room. And she is very nice and gives me directions to places.
So far the experience has been good. I give it 4.5 stars. But since there is no 4.5 it will show as a 5 star rating.
I will definitely will come back and stay here again.

It is a beautiful historic hotel! The staff was great! No complaints! Food in the restaurant was delicious and moderately priced. The service at restaurant was also wonderful!
Location was #1! Parking is complimentary for hotel guests! The terrace has beautiful view!

Its definitely not 4 or even 3 stars. Let me note the pros and cons.

Pros:
• Walking distance to many historical places, museums and the big market San Juan de Dios.
• Spacious room.
• Baggage people were friendly.

Cons:
•Reception wasn’t too friendly.
•Room wasn’t completely clean, there were pubic hairs in the toilet u0026 women’s hair on countertop u0026 shower tub
• A/C did not work.
•The room needed major improvements.
• I like firm mattresses, but good Lord that bed was rough. I felt I was sleeping in county jail.
•WIFI was horrible, almost non existent. They shouldn’t even advertise it.
• If you are not familiar with Guadalajara it can be tricky to arrive to the hotel by rental car due to the blocked streets and one way roads.

Would I recommend this hotel to family and friends, NO! Unless it’s a family member I don’t like.

The location of the hotel is centric, walking distance to anything you might need. I also liked the rustic setup with it being an older building. However, by the hotel being an older building, this might of been the reason why the internet connection was horrible. I did not know how bad the internet connection was going to be before staying here. I mainly work online and had a scheduled virtual meeting during my stay. I spoke to several staff members about the internet issue and it appeared I was given the runaround with any possible solutions. The ONLY staff member that was able to help me out was Jaime. I am mainly writing this review to inform others that if you need WIFI connection during your holiday stay, this place is not it. I was happy that at least someone demonstrated some compassion to my desperate need of internet. There is really no excuses to why noone in their front end staff could help me because I speak Spanish and clearly verbalized how much in need I was. I would hope that their staff gets some customer service training from Jaime because he was attentive and knew how to come up with a solution.

Excellent location and very friendly staff. Not all staff speak English, but someone will. Wifi can be spotty in your room if your room is located at the end of a hallway. Free breakfast is NOT included, but free parking IS available. If you want power to stay on in your room, you need to insert a door key card in the wall....when you take the key card out, all power will shut off in your room, even the alarm clock. Beds are firm if you like that. Also NOT included in your room: hairdryer, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, or iron. There IS a lockable safe you can put valuables into by using a 4-digit code that you can choose yourself.

There IS a pool and hot tub, but the water wasn't warm enough to use. There is NO gym. There IS a beautiful rooftop terrace, but ask the front desk when it is open.

If not super fancy, but you don't need all that extra stuff, you'll be fine. It's neat and clean. Enjoy your stay and wander the immediate area because the location is fantastic!
