I wore this review on airbnb but it does not show up, so I guess the host can CHOOSE what reviews people see.

Yon check in for our honeymoon there was a dead cochroach in the middle of the room. The door had a 1inch gap which allowed entry for them.

We tried to call reception, but the phone did not work. We were told it will be fixed after our stay.

Extra blankets and pillows were requested, we received one pillow and were told there were no blankets available.

Our Safe was not attached to anything, so a rheif would just have to pick up the light weight box.

The shower would only spray water from the head, so filling a bath took almost an hour.

No cutlery or plates/bowls were there, it took a couple hours to get serving plates/bowls for 2, which we had to sign out.

Ice was not available on our lastnight.

We reached out to the host the day after check in and still haven't received a response. I would have gladly have them make any effort to rectify or compensate for all the issues but that wasn't an option.

I've stayed at the demetria hotel, and it exceeded expectations, I would not staying at the associated bungalows, service, quality, and customer service is SUP-par.

Great place, value for money and despite some minor design flaws here, I’d recommend this place. It has small areas for improvement but I’ll stay here again. quiet, charming and well located!

3-star hispter hotel. Poorly designed, no amenities, rooms have no natural light, and low wifi signal. Manager who was very rude confirmed that hotel doesn't cater to business travelers. Security advised not to walk around the hotel at night. Overall a disappointing experience. Would recommend their sister property which is an upscale hotel with better customer service, amenities and management.

I have had a poor experience at the Bungalows Demetria. I stayed here last week for 5 days and it was very nice. The property is nice and unique. But this time, I stayed 5 more days and my stay was very poor. Here are my problems:

- The bathrooms have a poor odor (I experienced this in both units). They must have a problem with plumbing or air circulation.
- They won’t allow a later checkout of 1-2 hours, even though the property is not full.
- Some staff members are helpful and polite, others are unable to help with simple requests. You instead must call the main hotel, who speaks fluent English, and they usually help.
- There are small kitchens, but you are not provided with plates, cookware, or anything to clean the dishes despite asking for them.
- They don’t replenish the soap in the bathroom when they clean the rooms.
- The key has a giant wooden shoe connected to it, so it is difficult to carry and you must leave it at the front desk each time.
- Laundry must be dropped off on Friday if you want it before your check out Monday morning.

For a luxury hotel, I expected a better experience. The decor is nice, the night manager is very friendly, and it is safe. But I must say I had two totally different experiences here - one that was great, and one that was quite disappointing. I do not plan to return, and I suggest that - despite the nice property - you may find your money spent in a more accommodating hotel.

Great 6 day stay - would definitely return.
Each suite is unique and decor is very cool/stylish.
Front desk staff are friendly, helpful, reliable and both fluently bilingual in Spanish and English (at least).
Housekeeping is reliable and personable.
A/C, fridge, plumbing, tv, and safe all in good working and looking condition.
Lovely bathroom products (L'Occitane).
Very comfortable bed with luxury quality linens.
Great shower. Other reviewers have mentioned that water can escape the shower and wet the bathroom floor.. well, yes, that's true but this is Mexico where traditional showers are frequently entirely open to the rest of the bathroom. Also, Guadalajara's climate is VERY dry and even if you flooded the floor it would be bone dry again inside of an hour. When traveling internationally, embracing cultural differences is not only polite but presumably the whole point of traveling, no?
The included breakfast is at a tiny cafe next door to the hotel, the food is excellent in fact, hubby u0026 I both thought thier chiliquiles were tastier than those at the Demitria hotel's dining room (which were good). Coffee varied a bit and was sometimes on the weak side.
The Bungalows are located in a fantastic area with tree- lined streets and limitless food u0026 drink options 2 blocks away on trendy Chaputapeque (sp?)
We saw maintenance and repairs taking place on a few different days so bit appears that the Manager cares about the property. . We ran into one maintenance issue during our stay. It was dealt with immediately (while we were at dinner) and without any need for repeated requests, what more could you ask for?
Lastly, the wifi was included and, during our stay, was only down breifly in the middle of the night a few times (we're insomniacs). Otherwise it was stable and sufficient for Netflix streaming without interruption.
We definitely recommend this hotel, particularly for multi-night stays, and for those who like some character in thier accommodation.

I love this place. So tranquil and the rooms are great. Just like having your own little apartment. Great breakfast too!
