Two stars, because it’s in a convenient location, has parking in the rear and has a cozy terrace.
My wife, mother in law and I, with two toddlers, arrived at 11 am on a Monday for a late breakfast. We were seated next to an open table and by the kitchen area where drinks are made. We sat for 10 minutes waiting for service, no tableware/cutlery, nobody asking to take order, including an employee that passed our table three times on his way to pick up drinks.
A party of six sat at the table next to us, and the same employee that was picking up drinks immediately set their table and brought out a tray of sweet breads as is customary here. That same employee didn’t think to check on our table, yet proceeded to take that table’s orders, promptly bringing them coffee and juice.
We got up to leave, and on our way out I asked to speak to the manager (Mr. Miguel Polanco), and much to our surprise, it was the same employee that had previously ignored our table and had served the table adjacent to us. I mentioned our experience and he was not apologetic at all until we said we would be leaving a review.
This is a shame because the Avenida Tulum location has great service and atmosphere, and the food is delicious. I think this location is poorly run/managed.
There are better options for breakfast in Cancun (Mar de Miel, El Huerto, La Orgánica, etc.) so go for those.
