This place is still open. It is NOT permanently closed. It is run by real local people. A true Mexican place that reminds me my childhood.

No breakfast or fancy things that you will find in modern hostels around Tulum.

No kitchen.
You will pay an extra $150 for staying after 12:00 PM (you can use the common area, lockers and shower).

I had a TERRIBLE experience when I tried to book a room at this place. I went there in person and asked Sr. Beto about the rates. He gave the rate, showed me the room and told me the room would be available for the dates I was looking for. So I told him I wanted the room but I had to go get the money to book it. One hour later, when I came back, he treated me as if he had never seen me before, and act in a VERY weird way. He told me they had rooms but they were not available anymore (????), so I told him that I wasn't understanding that situation. Minutes later he threw a peper on the reception's desk and pointed to me to fill it. And then I asked again if he could give me a guarantee that I would have my room for the dates I wanted (after this weird situation I wanted to be sure If I would have the room) and he literally kicked me off of the place(!!!!), saying that he didn't want to rent the room for me anymore, that it was very complicated. It was an AWFUL situation and I felt he wanted to steal the money from me. It seemed he hadn't an available room and he wanted me to pay him the 50% in advance. I DON'T RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!!
