Wow - I caught my first tarpon on a fly ever with Cancun Fly Fishing this week! Then I caught another, and then another on a popper on the surface!

Enrique is a fantastic guide - very patient, knowledgeable, and well spoken. Jon did a great job managing the trip; he was friendly on the phone and sent detailed instructions so I wouldn’t miss anything.

I was here with the family this week enjoying all the typical Cancun adventures, and it was just perfect to take one day for exciting fly fishing while the gang was relaxing on the beach. I’ve fished all around the Americas and have never seen more beautiful water than here.

Just spent 3 days fly fishing with Bernardo mostly for tarpon. This was my second time out with him. Weather conditions near perfect although very hot. We had many shots, hookups and landed several decent and hard fighting/jumping young tarpon. I have fished with many saltwater guides over the years and Bernardo is among the very best. He is very knowledgeable, can find the fish, a good coach and very friendly and personable. I highly recommend him for both experienced and beginning fly fishermen.

We had a fantastic day fly fishing Isla Blanca. Setting up the trip with John was really easy. He customized the trip to meet our specific needs. There was excellent communication prior to and upon arrival in Cancun. The morning of our charter, our guide Orlando picked us up in a comfortable vehicle and took us to the dock. Orlando knew where to find the fish, and throughout the day, put us on rolling, hungry baby tarpon. He positioned the boat advantageously for both experienced and novice fly casters. Orlando seemed as genuinely happy as we were to bring each fish to the boat. He helped net the fish and enjoyed taking the obligatory grip and grin shots with us. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and I had to cancel our trip on Monday. I talked to Jon and he was able to get us a trip on Wednesday. We had a fantastic time catching fish with our guide Orlando. She was so excited catching Barracuda on light tackle as she has never fished salt water. I was having a good time for her and catching my own fish. I had such a good time I called Jon on Thursday and he was able to book a trip for me on Saturday. On Saturday I was with Orlando's younger brother Saul and I caught my first Snook by casting to where he pointed. Later I caught a nice sized Barracuda which he estimated to be 16 kg. Thanks to Jon and our guides my wife and I had a great time in Cancun. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good time. In fact I'm talking to some friends about going back in a year or so for a fishing adventure.

Cancun Fly Fishing must be one of the best kept secrets in the world of salt water fly fishing. I had a fabulous day tarpon fishing in the mangroves. My guide, Orlando was incredible. I am a total novice salt water fly fisherman, but I hooked seven tarpon, got three to the boat and landed one--a beautiful thirty pounder. I plan to be back fishing with them again in April for tarpon and snook.

A great afternoon fishing the lagoon with Noel as our guide. He really knows the spots. My son and I caught Snook, Jack, Snapper and a Baracuda. The boat and gear are excellent. Kept one fish for dinner. Thanks for getting us in with short notice.
