Rooms are very rundown with old furniture and they don’t look clean at all. Bathroom was dirty. I was switched from floor 7 to floor 1 where that floor level was redone but OMG the beds were like sleeping on a hard rock, so painful to sleep. I will never stay there again. The service was amazing but to me sleeping in a comfortable bed and clean room is my priority. The only bad experience with an employee was on my check out bcuz the front desk guy was very rude about me not having the pool towel card. I explained to him that when I got the towel the person did not give me the card back and he said that would never happen because they don’t keep them. I explained to him that it did happened and he wanted me to pay $300 pesos for a old ugly towel and said that I needed to go get the towel from the room and take it to him, I denied to do that because i was not told I needed to turn in the towel on check out. Anyways other then that every other employees there were great people. But the rooms are not nice if it’s not 1st floor but the beds are horrible… well if you like sleeping on hard beds then it’s ok but for me I will not stay there again.

Elcano has a very good location. Gorgeous view on the beach, relatively close proximity to grocery shops and very friendly staff. However, food and rooms are way below the 4/5-star standard. While the food tasted just fine, the choice was limited and it was hard to call slices of chicken/pork 'mexican food'. Rooms were bad, to put it lightly. Outdated furniture was present in every room. Bathrooms are not entirely cleaned, and wifi access is limited - some rooms have no internet, some have perfect range, so I guess it is a 50/50 if you get internet access. Double bedroom rooms were ok - they have a balcony with chairs and a table, there is good amount of space as well. Single bed rooms however were much worse - while you get some space, the rooms have no balconies (despite facing the sea), ac works half of the time and of course internet access is limited because your room is located near stairs or mantinenance rooms.

Overall, if you want to spend your holidays in Acapulco purely on laying on the beach, swimming in the pool and going to clubs or parties, then Elcano is a decent option if you manage to get a discount or if you are travelling as a group. However, don't expect anything you would from 4/5-star hotels, because Elcano is simply not that kind of hotel (despite having 5 stars)

Elcano did not disappoint. The accommodations were clean, airy u0026 inviting. The staff was great and helpful. The beach was gorgeous! All this on the main boulevard that gave us ready walking access to lots! I'm not hotel bougie at all. I believe a hotel is for sleeping, bathing u0026 getting dressed for the next adventure, so I don't require a lot of frills.
I would definitely recommend u0026 stay again.

The room is are very old, no maintenance! The room smells fungi and musty and mod. The shower is very old and once you want to take shower, the water stuck in the bathtub! The restaurant has very low quality food, the food is not fresh, I do not recommend this place. The only positive point is that rooms are big and facing the ocean and the hotel has its own beach. But you have to be outside of the room to enjoy your stay. Also good to point out during the night it is too crowded and noisy, you cannot sleep due to the sound. The back of the room is facing the busiest street in Acapulco, very hectic.

This hotel had 5* but in the 90s. Now 3* are max. Basic rooms with nice view and AC works good. A lot of garbages and also there were dead rats on the beach. Monotonous meals and I don't know it was fresh but a lot of people had stomach issues. Very friendly staff in restaurant.

Horrible. Service super slow. There was only one front desk lady and.make me wait 20 min even when l told her l was waiting she didn't say "sorry" I was coming from a long trip. Room excelent. Super clean. View perfect. Bell and door man. 100% service. Front desk 0% very bad. I never gave a bad review but they deserve for this price.
